I hesitated before posting because I assumed (as I tend to do) that everyone else already knew about the pics. Glad to know that it turned out to be a nice surprise to so many people.

(And I really do love Liz White's little bare feet ;-)

I too have a copy of the Observer magazine with this pic on the cover. If I remember correctly, those were real spacesuits, that's why the actors looked so awkward and uncomfortable in them.

That year, LoM was shortlisted in the BAFTAs' Best Drama section, but sadly didn't win. :(

Oh really! That's very very interesting :-D I was wondering about the suits... and thinking how cute it was that they put 'Sam' and 'Gene' in the matching suits, rather than 'Sam' and 'Annie'. *whistles*

Too bad they didn't win, but I'm glad they got the recognition of a BAFTA nomination. And of course they scored a truly awesome front-cover gig on the Observer <333
