Have you heard about
Archive Of Our Own (also known as AO3)?
It's a fan-created, fan-run, non-profit, non-commercial archive for fanfiction and fanart. The
section devoted to Life on Mars (UK) currently contains 421 423 works, and there's plenty of room for more. Writers whose work you'll find there include dorcas_gustine, lozenger8, Vermin_Disciple, wyvernwolf, Nepthys, mikes_grrl, halotolerant, Draycevixen, saintvic, aria, and many more.
Why upload your fics (or fanart) to AO3?
• It's an established and growing archive that already houses 134,000 works across 8,000 fandoms.
• You can upload your fic in a variety of ways - the easiest of which is to import it directly from the LiveJournal page where you originally posted it. When you import it to AO3, you can further tag and edit it as you like.
• Once a fic is uploaded, readers can download a copy as an ebook in any of the following formats: MOBI, EPUB, PDF, and HTML. For anyone who wants to read their fanfic on the go, this is one of the archive's best features!
• Readers can comment on your fics and/or leave "kudos" - a type of thumbs-up notification.
The archive is still in beta and occasionally there are small hiccups. Some special characters do not always import 100% effectively, so it's safest to avoid curly quotes and em-dashes if you can (although they do often convert without a hitch).
Having said that, I'm thrilled at the quality of the 144 fics I've downloaded so far. And in terms of ease of use, the site is outstanding.

Edited to add: Ooh! Forgot to mention that "while it's in beta" (which, frankly, has been a while now!), you need an invitation to join. Several people in the thread below have spare invite codes to give out. However, the number is limited, so please contact them only if you really mean to sign up. If the available giveaway codes run out, just go to the
AO3 Invitation page and leave your e-mail address so that they can send you your invitation; I'm told it doesn't take long.
If anyone else already has spare invite codes for AO3 ... please post below so that we can help out those who want to join right away!
UPDATE! I now have LOTS of spare codes for AO3, so please
shoot me a PM if you want one. (Be sure to include your e-mail address, as I'll need that to send you the invitation!)
