And oh, how I wish they'd kept Phyllis' introductory scene in.

This is a tragic loss. Did they shoot it?

Oh God, there is so much in the shooting script that I wish they'd been able to keep. The extended Sam/Maya scenes, the vending machine... all of it, really. But, sadly, the episode could not go for 2 hrs 40 minutes.

I'm with lozenger8: the shooting script has so many wonderful moments that I wish they'd managed to squeeze in. (Well, almost, since I do love 1.01 as is.) The notes are great to, especially the line about how if Sam were a flavor,
he’d be spearmint. *g*

That scene is particularly awesome, though. That would've been the perfect intro for her. Phyllis isn't in the filmed version of 1.01 at all, is she?

But now I desperately want to know what was in the omitted scenes... all 14 of them.

Especially what happened between this:

SAM
