Very cute. I loved the idea the Chris was afraid of clowns. I actually used that idea when I started my pinch-hit so must have something to do with the pressure ;) but it just didn't work for me. It certainly worked here though. As did Sam's blathering on. The idea of Gene getting all childlike and excited about the circus was sweet.

Sorry I haven't commented on this before - it is absolutely lovely.

I adore the idea of Gene getting all innocently excited in a child-like way about going to the circus.

That's actually one of the things I love about Gene/Sam - that feeling that as another strong man who is committed to "doing right", Sam can give Gene support and share the burdens he carries ( ... )

I don't think Gene has ever been more adorable! I just love how much he loves the circus, and how happy it made him when he went that night. I do feel sorry for Chris for having to have those stitches, though.

'Excuse me for a moment would ya, Spike? I have to go punch someone...'
