Oh, I really liked this a lot. Stories about Sam's childhood are a personal favourite of mine, and those first two scenes - not to mention the beautiful full-circle of the fifth - manage to reveal so much while keeping to a simple, understated child's voice.

brilliant, loved the full circle with #1 and #5, although I'd love to know what Sam did in #3 that had him running from a crowd of drunks.

Think this is a great concept and works really well. Like other commentators I like how it comes full circle. I also think that showing how Sam felt ignored a lot would explain a lot of his determined and confrontational attitude. : )
