Restoring FanLib's Deleted History

I'm supplying this for reference. Very little content on FanLib's origins still exists on the web. All the material at FanLib is gone, and so are many press releases. Edit: FanLib has excluded their site from the wayback machine. Wow do they suck.

Material includes the URL where it was once found. Most links now produce pinatas 404s ( Read more... )

Just curious--would there be cached files on the Wayback Machine?

I was on their mail list, so I have copies of the mails they sent out, even though all the links are now dead.

I tried the wayback machine and got this:

I'm going to have to make a plea for archived material; fortunately, many fans saved a lot. I want to make sure the entry at FanLore is complete as possible.

With about a month of hindsight, I'm feeling better about FanLib. They sold their software and servers, but they apparently made little or nothing on their fanfiction venture. That is heartening.
