I know I just posted about the forums, but they're getting goofier by the hour.

All links go to FanLib, now with more craptastic flash "badge" signatures, so be warned. Just don't use more than one badge, or you'll get banned! Because that's so much easier and less drastic than, I don't know, editing your sig for you.

Someone resurrects a month old wanky thread to ask about the review deletion policy.

Mod responds: It is ( Read more... )

So fanlib will delete a reader's comment if its not what the author wants to hear?

Sorry, I believe that if someone is posting in a public forum and I have taken MY time to read it, I'm going to post my thoughts, good, bad or critical.

If someone is new to fanfic, and SAYS so, I might be a little less critical, on plot points and pov shifts, but I'm going to comment on something as simple as using spell check.

But then, I don't go to fanlib and never will again, either.

I have to pipe up and say that I pulled all my stories off of FFN because they wouldn't respond to or delete weird abusive reviews that had nothing to do with my story. Let me see if I can dig up one of them...

Oh these are just so lovely I should share all three...

Don't turn on my husband! He's beaten buddhists, mulsims, catholics, amish, and certainly he can beat a tiny-sized brain like yours, you zealot!

So Mr. "Major", if that's really your rank (I think you're toilet-flushed but that's for another day), you menaced my friends Samael3 and his wife Queen Gloriana Malefica. Do you think you can get away with this? Probably yes because this is America, land of injustices (as long as Skull & Bones are still around) where the ee-diots can get away with crime. They were simply discusing wiht you the LeGuinian implications of an offshot of humakind out there in the stars wiht diffrent tech and valors and beliefs than us, but you mister wiht your Nivenist intollerance (somehting so typical of the usual writer in ff(dot)net turned it ( ... )

I should say all that started because I had a reviewer who didn't like that I had Jed Bartlet and Laura Roslin talking about religion in a West Wing/Battlestar Galactica fic. Because, you know, they aren't religious characters at all and those shows never talk about religion.

To me, someone who posts that sort of comment is just making her- or himself look like an idiot. [shrug] Leaving it up for everyone to see is probably just what they deserve. :P Heck, if someone posted something like that as a comment to a story in my journal, I'd probably freeze it so they couldn't come back and delete it.
