So I have this idea for a novel, but I'm a little embarrassed about it, because I have a feeling that this would most appeal to young adult readers.  Given the whole Twilight, 50 Shades, etc success, I feel like it would be something I might be able to sell.  But yeah... that's not exactly what I imagined my first novel would be like.  I mean if I

What's wrong w/writing a YA or MG (middle grade) novel? One of my fave fanfic crossover writers is a celebrated YA novelist. My fave former agent-blogger is now a YA/MG writer and CNET correspondent. And at least one of my fave authors (not JKR) is a YA novelist who writes some pretty heavy stuff. When I was a regular reader of hers, Mom and I would trade the books back and forth.

Hmm, I don't think I explained it well. It's not that it's a young adult novel; it's more that the idea itself is pretty juvenile. It's definitely not a heavy idea; if anything it's a riff off Pride and Prejudice... and you know how I feel about that. D:
