RP Moment: Somewhat Bad Ideas

Mar 02, 2009 19:54

[for: abit_unsettlin]As far as bad ideas went, this was not that bad. Murphy had done stupider things in her life, personal and professional. She had also had sex with men she didn’t know, which was much stupider than sex with a man she sort of knew and was still suspicious of. They didn’t talk much on the way to her hotel room, but he watched her the whole time ( Read more... )

He closed the door behind him, watching her. Noting that at least she trusted him enough to turn her back on him and disarm herself, mostly. Also, checking out her ass.

"Still better than my hotel room," he drawled.

This was interesting. Not unprecedented, not by a long shot, but it was certainly interesting. She knew more about him than most women who offered to sleep with him. She was all right with that, at least for now. He wondered if she'd change her mind at any point during the proceedings.

"You mentioned Guinness?" Given license now, though, he stepped up behind her, up close enough to touch her hair or her shoulders. He didn't do either, yet.

"I make enough to afford decent," she answered as she shed her long coat. She knew he was checking her out. He wasn't that subtle, even with her back turned to him.

She never liked people coming up behind her and it had only gotten worse after Robert. She stiffed slightly for a second, then relaxed and looked over her shoulder at him.

"Mini-fridge in the corner," she pointed to the little black fridge tucked in a corner near the bed. "Help yourself."

He watched her shoulders and back tense up as he came up behind her; that wasn't something he'd expected from her. Then he remembered. Carved into her back, huh. He brushed his fingertips over her shoulder as he headed to the fridge.

"Want one?" He did get himself one, because, hey. Beer. He wasn't going to turn down someone else's beer.

Something intoxicating was probably a good idea. The relaxing effects of alcohol could probably take some of the tension out of the air. It wasn't all sexual tension, there was still that something she couldn't put her finger on with him.

"Yeah, hand one over."
