What questions do you hope to see answered and/or issues further explored/resolved when Season 2 resumes in June?

Personally, my list includes:

• What's going on with Gillian and Alec? Did they really divorce so neatly, without any further contact? Or did he/is he trying to fight for her in any way? Is there any anger on either side? Possible ( Read more... )

I'm glad you brought up Dupree -- I'd like to know what happened there, too.

I'd definitely like to know more about Cal's past.

If I remember correctly, Monica Raymund has stated on twitter they're not continuing with the Dupree plot.

I think what I want to know most is what Cal did in North Ireland; it's not a topic often approached in American media, so I'm even more curious.

everythinng adamant said, plus Northern Ireland. i certainly don't know much about it, so lots of Americans probably don't either.

I'm actually wondering why Gillian is still calling herself Foster. We know that is the name we are used to and that they all call her like that, but it shouldn't be her name now she's divorced. They should have made it her maiden name.

Well...A, not every woman changes her name back to her maiden name, especially if the divorce just recently happened and she was married for any significant length of time, as Gillian seems to have been (i.e. it's not just a name, but an identity she'd be shedding, a part of her life, etc. and she might simply not be ready, if she ever will be)

B, we don't know which name Gillian's established herself under professionally. If people are calling her "Dr. Foster" now, then it seems that's what she's been known as in her field for at least some time; perhaps she's been published under that name, etc. The Lightman Group seems pretty famous as well, and so, given all these factors, she may not be willing to suddenly change over to "Gillian Smith" or whatever. Of course it would be possible to explain she's the same person, and anyone who's worth anything can and will bother to make the connection. But it will take some effort, there is room for confusion, etc. She may simply not be willing to risk it.

Ahhh. The Big Question.

I've wondered for a while how far names are meant to have significance in this universe. Pretty far, I guess (Loker is a god of mischief, "Lightman" is the man who brings truth etc.) It seems that "Foster" is going to carry her temporary name until her true love finally shows up.

Oh wow, that's very interesting! I never considered it that way...I wonder if it IS intentional on the part of the writers, or if we dedicated fans are overthinking/analyzing it all? :-)

W00t on all. Though I think point 4 falls under the "change of management" blind spot, and point 3 will always be a little unsatisfying because of that same "change of management" moment, which inserted massive canon conflict. :( (It's hard enough keeping up with all the eps playing out of order ( ... )

Note on 2 - I doubt any other companies have a stake, based on certain comments. But man the plot bunnies breed at the very thought. Especially as Gillian would be the only one to bring them in...

Heh, Gillian serves as a kind of unofficial public relations for TLG. So, that kind of begs the question, how many people/companies only deal with TLG at this point because of her? You'd have to wonder...no matter how talented Cal might be, or how much someone might need his services, I might imagine people could be rather turned off by him, especially if it was something long-term or a repeat contract.

I know we're getting the long-anticipated "how Cal and Gill met" episode. But... I really, really hope it shows how they were attracted to each other professionally, and not just a personal thing

Well, the ep description for "Sweet Sixteen" says that Cal and Gillian met via therapy sessions while Cal was at the Pentagon. So, we'll find out soon enough, of course; but my personal guess might be that Cal was going through an emotionally ( ... )

Hmm. I remember back in season 1 where it seemed like Cal was a bit irked by cases Gil was taking solo. And she seemed to be the one in charge of Eli and Ria (when Cal wasn't training her), giving them cases she was in charge of.

OMG I hadn't seen that. I wonder if it will hearken back at all to Afghanistan and (Bosnia?)? Whatever it was, I can totally see Lightman there pointing out Gillian's micro expressions and her shrewdly pointing out psychological truths about him and it being all Bradley Whitford and Adam Arkin in the West Wing, with ensuing cuddly friendship.

I hope they get back to the science of the show more, and get Cal out of whatever funk he's in, b/c he is totally different than first season. starting to be too much of a *bleep*.
I would like to see something between Cal and Torres, and maybe something with Foster and Loker or Ben. I think that office needs to shake up the company ink some if they are gonna dip the pen.
And agree mostly with the OP, would like to see some of those answers.
I too don't like whatever they did to the office. It looked more scientific before with all the white and sleek furniture.
And whatever happend to the receptionist? lol
