What a well put together piece. Your depiction of No-Souled-Sam was spot on in his mental thought processes, and your Castiel was beautifully flawed and yet powerfully angelic. I really liked your reshuffling of events, and the ending was a little piece of hope. Really enjoyed thanks.

I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed this! Soulless Sam is hard to pin down, so I'm very happy that his thought processes worked for you :D

Ahhhh, this is just so awesome! I had a brilliant time working with you on this, in case my rather waxy lyrics elsewhere hadn't already made that clear ;).

For posterity, rather than fragmented flailing over a series of emails, I think this story is excellent ♥. I love your RoboSam - that early question of his to what he thinks is Dean, about whether he's off because he serviced Oberon; such a casual enquiry from the soulless guy, y'know? Yo Dean, are you feeling a bit weird because of fairy rape, cos that would probably do it. He remains great throughout, very much self-focused and a creature of the moment - a chance to fuck, yes, go for it.

Castiel, oh man, season 6 Castiel. I'm so fascinated by him, and he's awesome here. I think one of my favourite bits is when he's fighting/fucking/fighting with Sam, and he's just full of rage, deep down where he should be all grace and purpose. He's so screwed up by the weight of everything, and then he gets dragged into this power struggle by RoboSam and it's on this utterly physical level; ( ... )

I feel exactly the same way, if my own praises haven't been sufficient in getting that across <3

I'm so, so happy that these characterizations worked for you! Season Six is tough to write, I've found. Robo!Sam in particular is really difficult; his motives can be so hard to grasp. It delights me to know that my interpretations work with yours.

And I agree with you on the fairy lore -- I don't think it's something Sam or Dean took seriously because, well, fairies. They're supposed to be flying along the moonbeams that come from unicorns' asses, not actually existing.

I'm glad that the Alpha blood thing came across strongly. I really didn't want to throw Eleanor under the bus, and it seemed like a reasonable solution.

Finally, the ending. It's good to know that you don't mind how open it was. I'm not too fond of tying everything up completely; it doesn't usually come across as real to me.

(And Adam. Alas, he just kind of gets screwed over in every version of canon ever.)

Oh my god. I LOVE this. Your depiction of the faeries, the soulless!Sam/Cas scene (I have a thing for them okay), and that ending... mmmmm. It's perfect.

Thank you! <3 I have a thing for Sam/Cas too, so it was a delight to be able to write them.

Oh, my gosh, I don't know how I missed leaving a comment on this, but . . . yeah. I knew this was going to be a good one when I saw who'd claimed scarletscarlet's creepy-good art.

It's a testament to your writing that I felt incredibly sad at the stock's slow deterioration and end in a pile of sticks. How did you manage to make me feel bad for a pile of STICKS, woman?

By the time everything is done - the vines chaining Dean burned away, the fields and forests turned to wastelands, and Oberon's remains completely indistinguishable from those of every other fairy who ever lived - the sky above Castiel is completely black. Night has fallen on Tir na nOg.

Castiel bends down and takes Dean's hand, pulling him to his feet. He smiles softly at the astonished look on his face. "Hello, Dean."

What a brilliant callback to the barn scene in 4.01 -- all sorts of pyrotechnics and destruction, followed by that quiet greeting. Except this scene is downright terrifying. Castiel nuked ALL the fairies to save Dean. Wow ( ... )

Long comments make my soul smile, so thank you! <3 I am so happy that you have enough faith in me to think that this will be quality prior to reading it.

Ahh, stock!Dean. I felt pretty bad for him too. Like Adam, he's one of the people who kind of gets screwed over in the Winchesters' fight. Although he does have the distinct advantage of being of my own creation, and therefore not entirely forgotten about by the showrunners.

And I'm so glad you liked that scene! I'm a big fan of Castiel's entrance, so knowing that I was able to emulate that feel makes me feel incredibly good.

Again, thank you very much. <3
