This is heartbreaking. How they slowly grew apart until they don't even recognize each other anymore...it makes me want to cry. :(

Excellent use of second person, it can be tricky to get it right but I think it really worked in this case.

And the differences, like trails of water on the ground

Beautiful imagery!

And you realise that what you once thought was a mirror is actually a window

You're trying to destroy me, aren't you?

Totally brilliant! When I first saw it I was thinking, dear god, another Regulus fic? but I liked it. A lot. The second person was used awesomely.

"His hair a bit more unkempt, your nose a bit longer. His height taller, shoulders broader. Your face more hollow, eyes deeper set." and
"The tower and the dungeon. The courageous and the cunning. Where he laughs, you smile. Where he grins, you raise an eyebrow."

This completely embodied their personalities and made so much sense. I felt like I was looking through a window at Sirius. I just... loved this so much!

Aw :( That makes me so sad that not only did they grow apart emotionally but physically as well.

I like it, kind of bittersweet, whispers about regret, words never said, paths not taken, choices made.

I've always imagined Regulus as more reserved. I'm glad I'm not the only one though I suppose it makes sense. Rashness does not suit a death eater.

Regulus fic always makes me so sad.
I love how you explore their relationship though. You do such a good job of showing how different they are after being so close once.
