Oh, it's adorable. I love that it wasn't this perfect, crashing first kiss, but something so awkward. Best of all was James's reaction. I do love your James. Can I have him, please? ;)

This was so true to life. First kisses are rarely romantic or perfect.

*grins* I love that she counts the seconds, and that James made her wait.

"Rubbish kiss, that was," James whispered, a sincere smile forming on her face. "We should probably try that again."

I love first kisses that aren't perfect. Mine never are and I still think of all of them fondly and with a goofy smile. It's just how first kisses work.

James response is perfect! And so is Lily's!
The last line is my favorite part. I love the whole "reality is better than what I imagined" thing.
