(well, they were put in parallel universies - not sure about spelling. anyway, and they won't get a chance to see each other again. it's really complicated, but so wondefully, beautifully, heartbreakinly sad!)

p.s. and I've seen only 2 episodes of Doctor who - the first one of first season (the new one) and this one. was very impressed!
