Disclaimer: I do not own anything pertaining Grey’s Anatomy, or anything else I may refer to. I don’t even own the lovely Arizona (no matter how much I wish I did) and this is purely for fun, so no. I’m not getting any profit for this. Yep. none what so ever.
A/N: This is my first FanFic. I have never, and I repeat NEVER published anything I written, so don’t attack me too much. This is a AU Calzona story.
(Flashback)
“Zona… wait I can explain…” Jenna said as she stepped forward in an attempt to stop Arizona from walking out the door. Arizona flinched and made her way back. “Don’t” she said in a dangerously low voice, holding up her hands, tears coming to her eyes. “Arizona…” Jenna spoke softly, she took another step forward and that’s when Arizona lost all control. “STOP IT!” She screamed and Jenna stopped dead in her tracks. “Just stop it… I’ll get my bags..an- and I’ll leave” she spoke softly, her voice cracking slightly.
(Present)
Arizona took in a deep breath and put on a smile. It wasn’t her usual smile that came out when she was truly happy, her dimples in full force, oh no it was her forced one-dimple smile. She was starting a new job at Seattle Grace Hospital. Many miles away from Mass Gen, away from her old life, and most importantly away from the person who broke her heart. Her ex-fiancé.
Arizona wasn’t due to go work at the hospital for another 2 weeks, but she couldn’t handle being in Massachusetts anymore. It wasn’t home for her anymore and she couldn’t bring herself to work there anymore. She was glad that she got the job offer at SGH. She needed it, really needed it. She was losing herself, and couldn’t handle losing anymore of herself.
Since she wasn’t really sure what there was to do in Seattle, she decided to go to a local bar. Emerald City bar… she liked the name. As she walked into the bar, she looked around and noticed that there were a few people there. As she was making her way to the bar, not really paying attention to her surroundings she bumped into someone causing their drinks to spill. “I-I’m so so-sorry” Arizona stuttered out. She took in a deep breath, and for the first time that night her eyes connected to those a dark shade of chocolate brown. Her breathing hitched as she took in the sight in front of her.
Callie had been a bit annoyed, and all around upset so Christina and Mark decided to take her out to Joe’s and get wasted. Though the only reason Christina was in because she knew there would be plenty of tequila and who was she to turn down tequila? Callie noticed that she had finished her drink and looked around at the table and noticed the others had too. “Who’s up for another round?” she said, trying to sound as happy as possible. “Tequila! Tequila!” was all she heard from a very drunk Christina and she looked to Mark, “I’ll have another beer…” he stopped and paused “Make that a whiskey” he said.
As Callie got up to get their drinks, she was lost in thought. “Hey Joe,” she said, sadness evident in her voice. “Hey, the normal?” Callie simply nodded and started thinking. When the drinks came, she simply thanked Joe and got up to walk back to her table when she bumped into a petite blonde, slightly aggravated that her drinks had spilled on her. “Damn it.” She swore and doubted that the blonde heard her. “I-I’m so so-sorry” she heard and then her head snapped back up and connected to the most beautiful shade of blue she had ever seen. “No..its okay, totally my fault” she muttered.
Arizona looked at Callie, a little intrigued. “No, my fault, I was a bit lost in… thought.” She simply replied. That’s when an Asian girl went up to them, that seemed to be the raven-haired stranger’s friend. “Whas takin’ you so long Callie?” Christina asked, slurring her words and wrapping her arm around her neck, she then noticed that someone was standing by her and raised her eyebrow then turned to look back at Callie, “And who’s the hottie?” she said with a suggestive grin towards Callie. Callie rolled her eyes, “Why Christina? You interested?” she teased, while Arizona stood there beat read listening to them.
“Oh no, you know me. I stick with the dick.” She giggled to herself, “Ha, I just rhymed.” Callie shrugged off Christina and looked at Arizona who looked flushed. “Hey you ok?” she asked, worry laced in her voice. Arizona noticed that she had been blushing and furiously tried to cover it up. “Yeah, I’m… fine.” She said with a slight cough, hoping that the blushing had gone down some. “You sure? I mean, you don’t have a fever or cold do you…?” Callie said as she put her hand onto the forehead of the blonde-stranger with blue eyes.
Arizona went a little light headed when she felt Callie’s hand on her forehead, she flinched back involuntarily and immediately regretted it when she felt the loss of the touch. “Sorry… I tend to do that sometimes…” Callie said with a nervous cough, “Oh and don’t mind Christina, she’s had well over her share of drinks tonight...” she started trailing off as their eyes connected again like there was something pulling her towards her. What? No. I’m straight. Given I just got out of a relationship with a woman.. but I’m straight.. and she’s straight. She thought to herself and looked away from her. A slight blush was starting to form on Arizona’s face again as she looked away coughing again. “Uhm, well sorry for bumping into you…” her words trailing off as she gazed at Callie’s full lips, wanting to kiss her.. Whoa, wait kiss? Who said anything about kiss? I just met the girl.. Even if she is amazingly hot, sexy, a hell of a good kisser and all of the above… She’s probably straight and I just got out of a relationship... Great.
Arizona noticed that Callie had been talking and looked back up at her, only getting the end of the conversation. “… so it’s totally alright. I was leaving anyways” Callie finished up, only now noticing that she was rambling and had been joined by a very cute, very tall guy. She grinned sheepishly and had Mark help her drag Christina out of the bar. Arizona sighed and made her way back to the bar. “Great, not only is she straight, but she’s taken by some hot guy.” She mumbled more to herself than to anyone. She sighed and looked up, “Hey…” she said to the bartender “A shot of tequila” she said, it was going to be a long night. She just hoped that her life couldn’t get worse. She hit rock bottom, all she could do was go up now right?
