News. Never a good idea. I just heard from my sister that Skip, our half-brother from my father's first marriage (all of which I found out about when I was 25) died last November. Born before the war, he must have been at least 80. He'd lost his wife a couple years ago, so I'm not astonished, but it's still sad ( Read more... )

I'm sorry for your loss. I understand the running out of relatives thing. I have one uncle on his way out and 2 aunts left out of 12 aunts/uncles plus my parents are gone. One cousin died not long ago so they will start to go (I have 9 more, including spouses). I'm sorry if that sounds cold. I don't mean it to be.

I'm sorry to hear about your family losses. My mom passed away a few years ago, and my dad probably won't be around much longer. (He's 96 and has dementia.)
