New Discoveries

        Spent a lovely couple of days visiting Nathan and Jon in Connecticut. Went antiquing, toured the beautiful countryside, and just plain relaxed for five days. While I was there I snitched Nate's Kindle and played around with it. I was surprised by how much I really enjoyed using it. Personally I think Riordan rushed this project, probably to capture popularity and readers from his Percy Jackson series. The research and back stories of the myths and monsters was not at all up to the high standard Riordan set for himself with the Olympian books. I also feel there were far too many campy asides between the protagonists, read the book and you will know what i mean. On the upside the book was an easy read with a fast pace, with an engaging story.

He is one of - if not THE - hottest author in our library. My only barometer is the lack of availability. We have 34 copies out and a waiting list of 153.
