Wow. Just...wow. I've never watched "Pushing Daisies" but I feel like I know something about it now, and a lot about Ned. How is it you go so deep? I started out thinking, oh I'll read this because Paxlux recced it and it'll be good but it won't really grab me--a little piece of crossover with a universe I know nothing about--and ended up with a big lump in my throat and some serious awe.

I love this paragraph:

"Only the things that should stay in the ground, the things other people can't put away for good." He's not good at hedging around what he does with words. But this place, this shiny colourful place seems to demand words. It seems to demand honesty and plainness and explanation. Like anything not painted bright needs to prove it belongs. "Nothing clean," he adds finally, like the tail end of a confession.

It's a layer or two down below Dean's comfort level and it feels like the truth of what's down there.

This time Dean did it right, he found the right person. No bargain, just a plea to a good person. And Sam never has to know. This felt so good. I'm so glad for Dean.

Maybe some time Dean can come back and try the pie. But probably not with Sam. Dean is vigilant.
