Ah, man. Every chapter is just more tension layered on and on.... Sam and Chuck is awesome, Sam's so gentle with him, protecting him but making him help, too, just being there....
And fuck, Dean and Castiel...so much heartbreak and need, so much loneliness and desperation, it's beautiful. It hurts and it's so scary and it's damn perfect.
Thank you very much, I'm really pleased you think so. I do love tension so that makes me happy and I had a lot of fun with the Sam and Chuck parts, they're kind of fun to mess about with.
I'm so glad the Dean/Castiel worked for you. I really was trying to get a bit of everything into that and it felt a little more desperate since everyone thought it was the end of the world. Like maybe Dean could get away with things he might not have done before.
Damn, I'm so glad I'm able to keep a straight face while reading porn, and that there's no one behind me to read over my shoulder. XD
This story is so awesome I have no words for it. I love how you wove Dean and Castiel's relationship, how it's easy and new and kind of unexpected (at least for Dean, not really for us :P).
LOL! I'm sorry I make you read porn where you shouldn't :P
Thank you very much! ♥ I loved writing their relationship in the middle of the zombie apocalypse. I think you can get away with things when the world's ending that might take you months to work through if you stop to fret about it.
Another beautiful chapter - I read part two last night when I was too tired to comment, and now I've read through part three without coffee to fuel my brain, but oh well. I love the beautiful, touching moments here, not just between Dean and Castiel but between the brothers, and between Sam and Chuck. Each relationship is gaining unexpected strength - lovers, brothers, friends - through all this, and you write that beautifully.
So many great lines to quote, but this one really haunts me: Besides, Dean's had easy for too long. He deserves a little complicated. Something that matters, no matter what shape it is. Because yes, Sam sees Dean so clearly and where Dean thinks complicated is trouble and BAD, Sam understands that the most profound love is always, always complicated. A great insight into both men, captured eloquently and totally in character. ♥
Thank you so much I'm really pleased you enjoyed it. I loved writing everyone in this and all their relationships and moments together so it makes me really happy that you thought it all worked. Sam and Dean especially who're so much a part of each other, so thank you for that lovely compliment.
I was thinking about that line too, about the fact that Sam knows more about this particular kind of trouble than Dean does, and how much he wants it for Dean. The way you want someone to have the one thing you can't (in this universe) give them.
Honey, your epic-writing skills are... well, they're epic. This should be a movie.
I keep wanting to jump into the fic just to hug them, or hold their hands, or fight the bad things with them. My poor, darling boys.
And Dean and Castiel... you've got them just perfectly right. I feel like this is exactly how their canon subtext -- their longing stares and little frustrating growls -- would come to life, would stretch and twist and grow into something real, something true... if the PTB were brave enough to go there.
Thank you so much, that's so amazing of you to say. I really enjoyed writing it so I'm pleased you enjoyed it.
That's such a lovely compliment because their relationship will never get the chance to grow like this on the show but if it did, if it could, I'd want them to do it right.
This is fantastically written. I have to say that initially your frequent use of fragments threw me off--but after a while they stopped being jarring and really enhanced the story. They emphasize the separate images marvelously, and the effect is a bit like that of The Road's.
I love your portrayal of Castiel, also. It's at odds with much of the fandom's, but it's so right.

And poor Chuck, I just want to cuddle him.
On to start reading the last part. :D
