Oh, that was amazing. My heart aches for both of them - Dean teaching Castiel how to want when he thinks it was nothing (should be nothing), Castiel who now feels...

*sigh*

wonderful!

Aww... I love the last two lines, even if I giggled a bit at the can of worms one, and that may not be right with how lonely the rest of the fic felt to me.

Poor Dean, living in that river in Egypt.

Thank you very much! I couldn't resist the can-of-worms, that struck me as the sort of thing Dean would think.

He is so deep in his denial here, I'm sad for him, desperately sad,

I love this, how you captured both Dean's confidance (he knows what he's doing!) and his insecurities (what the hell has he done?!??!) in a beautiful reflection of Dean's currently really messed up life. That the reflection was both literal and metaphorical is a wonderful touch, and adds a lot to the complex emotions swirling through this.

I also love Dean's description of Castiel as greedy and perhaps a bit clumsy and selfish, and forgiving him for it because of it being Castiel's first time. I think Dean forgives him for it because he loves Castiel too, I think that is so clear in your writing, even if Dean is unable to acknowledge it at this point.

Thank you!

Thank you so much for your amazing comment, you've pointed out pretty much everything I wanted to get across and that makes me ridiculously happy. I never know if the layers I try to get in are working and I'm really pleased they worked for you.

I honestly do think Dean loves Castiel here, desperately, enough to pretend, for his sake, that there's nothing there are all.

Thank you for reading and commenting.
