Fair warning to y-slaybelle, my 2008 selection clearly scoffs at your system, given that I have five authors with a minimum of five books each on the list (many of which were read consecutively) and six more authors with at least two books each. So, better look away now while you have the chance. *weg*

Ursula might have a copy of Connie Willis' To Say Nothing of the Dog. I think you'll like it. And if you can find the Young Miles omnibus or even just The Warrior's Apprentice, get it. :D

So is Diana Wynne Jones a good read? I have Howl's MovingCastle on the backburner, and no, I haven't seen the Studio Ghibli movie.

Yes, she is although I like the Chrestomanci books more than Howl's Moving Castle. Infurnes, my reading of Howl was colored by the movie. I kept looking for movie moments in the book. It didn't help that I was also thinking of Spirited Away and got confused when scenes from that film didn't show up in book version of Howl. :P
