No he's American! He goes into peoples' dreams to steal stuff, but now he's not sure which reality is the real one and which worlds are his dream worlds. In one of them, he's on the Titanic, and in another he's a U.S. Marshall who's having trouble uncovering the truth in even that reality!

I've got a ton of German descendants, especially in the south. Almost ended up speaking German for a while there. Oh, and I've got tons of Danes and Norwegians up north! There was a point where like every other person in the northern army was Norwegian or some other Nordic immigrant.
