Did you and Craig ever discuss sex together before you were married? I think that helps a lot. I'm terrified and nervous about sex, but not near as much as I was before Andrew and I started talking about it. It can be kind of embarrassing sometimes, but discussing it honestly and being open is really good for your relationship. I know our experience with it will probably be much less traumatizing since we'll both know how we feel and what each other's expectations are.

I'm sure it will get better for y'all, though! :)

oh yes, we talked about sex at great length. i was by no means his first - but talking didn't do anything to warn me about the reality of it. i'm grateful that he's so patient and doesn't mind going slow - even after "doing it" for the last 9 days. it's still difficult on my side - and when i stopped taking the birth control and we switched to condoms it was a nightmare - leaving me in tears, and him apologizing profusly because he had no idea i was hurting so much. now that we've got the lubing thing back under control, condoms aren't nearly the nightmare, and i almost prefer them since it's so much less messy ( ... )

Ah, well, that's good then! I can't give any advice or sympathy, being still a virgin. ;) But I can tell you that from reading the experiences of quite a few married girls I know, what you're going through is not uncommon and it *will* get better. *hugs*

In a year or so you'll be an old pro and able to give me some advice as I prepare to embark on that particular journey myself. ;)

My husband and I each read a book called "The Act of Marriage" before the wedding day. He actually read it the night before and had to just skip to the important parts. :) I had highlighted the stuff I thought was important. You can get it at Christian bookstores... I think it was really helpful to have some basic education beforehand and it was nice it was from a Christian standpoint. Men really play a large role in how much their wives enjoy sex and a lot of men don't know that so Zack felt like he learned a lot and he recommends that book to everyone he knows getting married.

I've made sure to make it my duty to tell my sister everything about sex. There was so much I just didn't know...had no idea I didn't know...etc. Unless someone takes the time to pull you aside, you aren't gonna get much practical knowledge. I read and stuff and had scads of book knowledge...but that alone isn't enough I don't think.
