I haven't posted much on this issue, because every time I think about it, my brain starts melting.

Y'know, I was kinda pissed about this when I read about it for the first time last week. It's still kinda wrong.

But now, this little fandom gem has eaten my brain and sent me into a depressive fit. Bother (HP) fandom and everything to do with it (Pumpkinism et al)!

I think I've been living in a cave. This is the first I've heard of this.

So you can imagine, I'm fairly pissed. Won't go into detail, but I did a fair amount of ranting at my journal.

I thought maybe there were some people who hadn't heard of this yet. While it got mentioned & discussed in several LJ's last week, there wasn't as big an outcry as I would have expected. I think people just have outrage fatigue at this point.

Actually.. Chan chandler who is preacher at East Waynesville Baptist Church didn't kick out all the democrats. Over half of the people who left were republican.

I'm sorry, did you not read any of those links?

Pastor Chandler told everyone if they hadn't voted for Bush and refused to renounce a vote for John Kerry, then they should get up and leave. He then rounded up a vote to "excommunicate" 9 Democrat members. Only after these events did the 40 other members leave on their own. Now, maybe some of those 40 were Republicas... I suppose it's possible.
