I'm not a fan of rap music in general but as someone who can remember some of the civil rights movement, I have to agree with him. Ain't no line too long this time. Our weather forecast for Tuesday is ridiculously nice; partly sunny and at least 65 degrees (not exactly Wisconsin in November weather). I'm hoping that's a good luck sign:)
I saw that Prop 8 commercial last night and I asked my husband, "Isn't that Samuel L. Jackson?" He said it was (he's a big fan).
That commercial really struck a nerve for me. In the past my own marriage would be illegal. That wasn't right then, Prop 8 isn't right now. The self-righteous (and mendacious) commercials make me mad, and the people coming from other states to stir this pot makes me even madder. I've donated $$ to this fight because it really means something to me and has for a while. It only recently realized it was because I was in an "unsuitable" marriage, myself. :)
*nods* It especially bugs me how they lie. The state doesn't force churches to preside over the marriage of two people of different faiths, what the hell makes you think they would (or could) force them to preside over the marriage of two people of the same gender? But people buy that.
I thought this commercial drove the point home perfectly.
