I don't think I've ever read anything so sad as that last article. ONE IN FIVE Americans believe the sun revolves around the Earth? I cannot even describe how depressed that makes me. And I can't help but associate it entirely with the Republicans in general and Bush in particular.

"Arrogance about ignorance" is really the only way to describe it. Better to be arrogant about your convictions than about the lack of knowledge underlying your convictions, I say.
