First, the Boston Globe takes a look at what the $611 billion spent on the Iraq War could have bought. It's a little disingenuous, in that just because we've spent all this money, doesn't mean we actually had it; we put it all on the national credit card. I've been saying something for the last four years about everything else the war-money could've covered; glad the Globe's caught up with me. But yeah, the educate-and-feed the poor one kinda makes me sniffle. :(

Why doesn't the press spend more airtime on the fact that THREE DUDES all said something was a bad idea, and then WENT AND DID IT. (I guess Shrub the First wasn't directly involved, but STILL.)

W00t for Watada. I'd wondered what happened to his case!

Me too, but there's something about exact figures like that.

I don't know. Same reasont they never cover any of the hypocritical shit Repubs pull. It's sad that only the Daily Show ever does these kinds of comparisons. (Cheney's old interview, Candidate Bush debating President Bush, etc.)

Indeed. Even better would have been if he'd been allowed to mount the defense they handed him on a silver platter, but this'll do.

It's amazing and depressing to me, how of all the tactics and strategies employed to try to "win the War on Terror", treating people decently is never even considered.

To paraphrase Professor Higgins: Why is thinking something Bushies never do? Why is common sense never even tried?
