First Jena, then the incident at Columbia, now this. As a WHITE civil rights activist, I'm pretty fucking offended by sham of an "accepting" country. God. =[

According to the CNN article, they held the trial in the town where the camp was located, and the videotaped "confrontation" lasted thirty minutes.

I really don't understand people - white or not - who could look at that, and know a child has died, and still acquit. Racism is the only explanation.

"You kill a dog, you go to jail - you kill a little black boy and nothing happens."

There are those to whom dogs mean a lot more than black youth.

Evidently. Although, I see no reason to assume this white jury would give any more of a damn if someone killed a dog.

If that dog belonged to a black person.

Well, maybe if the dog was really really cute. And white?

Heh. And if the person who killed it was black.

I happen to think you should go to jail for killing either a dog or a human, and far longer for killing a human, but I'm clearly some wacky Northern liberal elite for thinking so. :p

I know. Every time I see stuff like this, I just boggle.

Not that people are still this racist, but that there are still so many who are so utterly shameless about it. It's like, not only has the Civil Rights Movement not reached them, they haven't even heard of it. Or, y'know, how popular it's become.

My God, fuck the south, I'm so glad I got out of there. You'd think the civil rights movement never happened down there.

Which is ironic considering that much of the civil rights movement did happen down there.
