More domestic spying

Before their summer recess, Congress gave Bush even broader spying powers. Now it looks like those powers might include warrantless physical searches on U.S. soil.

And why did some Democrats go along, allowing this to pass? Well, according to one citizen who wondered that very thing to their senator:

See, this is why I don't like calling myself a Democrat. I mean....those PUSSIES? I don't want to be one. We've got the gems, like Nancy P and Dean, but so many of them are just WUSSES. I don't know how we're going to stay afloat when the conservatives hammer us and we just give into them every time. GAAAAAAAAH.

Side note : PHYSICAL SEARCHES?! Great. Just great.

I don't mind calling myself a Democrat. What gives me the heebies is admitting they're Democrats. (And I had to resist using the word pussies in this post, because I know it makes some people all 'hay what's wrong with pussy?', but damn it's hard to resist sometimes.)

I'm honestly dumbfounded that being called "unpatriotic" or "soft on terror" still has power in this country. I can't believe that anyone, much less those who won seats last year, shrinks away when it's tossed out. This administration's actions should have decimated whatever power those words once had. Bah, I'm disgusted. Thanks for the links though.

Welcome. And yeah, I think Democrats could totally diffuse the power of those words if they'd just mock them as they deserve.

Anyway, the people most prone to believe those slurs anymore probably say "Demoncrat", so it's not even worth trying to get on their good side.
