And you might want to have it all wrapped up before your kid is old enough to understand what’s being said about his family by your dad’s political allies.

Whenever I think Dan Savage is too angry, I remember how hard it was to explain that homophobic drivel to my kids when they were the same age as his son. It was very upsetting for my mine and the attack wasn't on their own family. Savage's son must have been devastated. Savage has a right to his anger. You just don't get over seeing your kid's face when he or she realizes how much blind hatred and prejudice there is in the world.

Revision to above: The attack was on my family and what it stands for. Which is why I feel personally offended whenever they offer to "defend" my marriage. I don't want them forcing their disgusting definitions on my marriage.
