The only thing that will stop me from doing so is incredibly unlikely: Texas legalizing gay marriage. However, I might as well ask for an end to the death penalty in the entire country, with as likely as that is.

On the other hand, anybody who wants to marry their same-sex partner and live in Massachusetts might be wise to do it soon - this amendment wouldn't invalidate marriages that have already taken place.
And wouldn't that be a weird situation. Some gay marriages would be "grandfathered in" while the rest of the gays, including those who come of age in the future, would be denied the right to marry.
