Oh, come on. How stupid do they think we are?

i'm listening to NPR right now and a man (i wish i caught his name!) is being interviewed about why new york had funds cut...especially since the excuse was given that there aren't enough "national landmarks" in NYC despite things like the empire state building or the statue of liberty existing there.

and his response? "national landmarks don't generally have people in them, or living in them..."

so, i guess the government thinks that it's not worth spending money to protect cities with historical monuments which are often frequented or inhabited by PEOPLE. because, you know, life isn't that important i guess.

I've also read an article that said NYC just doesn't have anything left to bomb. I assumed it was being facetious...
