Yep, but the parliament's still liberal, and plus, it's Canada; how long is conservative reign honestly going to last? And their conservatives are like our Dems.

Did Bill O'Reilly really say he was "afraid" to see Brokeback?!?

Dear Bill O'Reilly, If seeing a movie is enough to make you gay, then you are already gay.

The Hamas thing is... bizarre. No doubt, the military wing of Hamas is bloody well bad business. But they remind me of the IRA and Sinn Fein, except the only way to easily differentiate between the two is in the Arabic, so it doesn't play well in the media. Hamas also has a huge social services wing, which has been in many cities (Ramallah, Gaza, Nablus) the sole provider of services to the Palestinian people. Fatah is a bunch of worthless old windbags, frankly ( ... )

I don't know much more about Hamas than you do, but someone on the News Hour last night pointed out that Fatah also has its terrorist wing. So the "we won't talk to the terrorists" attitude, while perhaps justified, is a little bit hypocritical when we've been dealing with Fatah all along. But it is like the IRA/Sinn Fein... if you don't deal with those people, you can't engage in a meaningful way at all ( ... )

Dammit, I wish I would have seen that article about the FNC columnist on Monday. I turned in a paper in Mass Media and Society about columnists for hire, after that business writer was found to have accepted money from Monsanto. I also referenced Maggie Gallagher's acceptance of money from the Dept. of HHS for promoting the marriage initiative and Armstrong William's acceptance of money from the Dept. of Ed. to promote No Child Left Behind. Hmmm..what seems to be the common element? That these so-called journalists are pushing right-wing, corporate interests? Bingo!
