Which, California residents, remind me again what the fuck you're voting on next week?

Well, as I am filling out my absentee ballot right now, I shall enlighten. :)

Prop 73 is a restriction of abortion rights [NO!], Prop 74 is about teachers' probationary periods [NO!], Prop 75 is in regard to union money and special interest groups [NO!], Prop 76 is basically another school budget cut [NO!], Prop 77 is on redistricting [NO!], Prop 78 is all buddy-buddy with pharmeceutical corporations, Prop 79 benefits health care [YES!], Prop 80 is restrictions in electrical service providers -- basically benefiting big energy corps [NO!], and then I have a few municipal and school things to vote on, including a Measure which would prevent cuts towards police, fire, libraries, community centers, city street upkeep [YES

I wouldn't even know where to begin to explain the Sponsorship scandal. If you're really curious, the timelines by year, people involved, numbers, testimony, etc. can all be found here. Essentially, it's some pretty disgusting money funneling. However, my political scale includes the Bush administration and frankly, this barely rates.
