I think I like his commentary even better than Kanye's: "George Bush hates midgets!" Chris Rock quipped last night during "Shelter From the Storm: A Concert for the Gulf Coast

You know? And to think, these are the people who are supposed to be saving people no matter what.
I heard a story on Dateline last night about how in one of the Parrishes, a rescue group from Vancouver, 2800 miles away, got to them before the National Guard. I did a double take when I heard that. Unbelievable. And all the ways that FEMA fucked up local rescue efforts. UGH.

... and decide, "we need something new!"
Heheheheheheh. Chris Rock is my hero, for serious. You know he's filmed two of his major HBO specials here in DC, Bring the Pain and Never Scared? He got in trouble with DC for awhile, because he made fun of the Crackhead Mayor. That just made me love him more - SOMEONE HAD TO SAY IT!!!
...I should go buy The College Dropout. Finally. ;) *embarassed*
You must! I could actually send it to you if you wanted. :)

Yes! I definitely remember that. I just hope someday he does a special in SF so A) I could possibly see him, and B) he could make fun of SF in the special way that only Chris can. ;)
And wheeee! I'd love if you sent it to me! Thank you so much! And I promise I will buy it soon. I've always been the girl who said, "Oh, I love Kanye!" without actually listening to more than a few of his songs. Which is bad. I must get Kanye-d. Hee!

It would be the best special ever. So many good comics do fabulous specials in SF - Margaret Cho, Dave Chappelle, Eddie Izzard with his "Dress to Kill" show. There's so much good joke fodder. :)

Here you go - The College Dropout .zip! The whole album is amazing, but definitely make sure to check out "All Falls Down", "We Don't Care", "School Spirit" and "Jesus Walks".

BTW, did you know Chris Rock listened to The College Dropout on repeat while he wrote most of his Never Scared material? It all makes sense now.
