maybe this sounds ignorant, but i don't understand the statement, "it's time for a strategy to win in Iraq..."

what are WE (americans) trying to win? there are no WMDs, sadaam's been removed from power, and wasn't it just recently established in a report that democracy isn't necessarily the best form of government for iraqi society?

americans have nothing to win in iraq -- the ONLY goal we should be working towards an exit strategy.

Exactly. There's nothing to "win" in Iraq, and we're not going to bring them "democracy" or whatever. The only thing to do - in MY MIND at least - is to cut our losses and get the hell out of there.

I can see some justification for not completely abandoning the Iraqi people, and for providing them with certain assistance in terms of food or practical services like that. But us continuing to occupy the country just doesn't make any sense to me.
