Wait a sec. I'm confused. There's a democratic wing of the democratic party?

Isn't it all the same thing?

LOLOL

I'm guessing they meant liberal or something.

I know!!! I stared at that quote for 5 minutes going, "Okay, I have to be reading this wrong."

I'm guessing they meant liberal or something.

I guess! Still, it doesn't do much for their case if they can't express it properly.

Oh God I was watching a thing yesterday with people in the US voting in the Iraq elections talking about how thrilledOMG they were to vote (and then they showed clips of Americans standing outside congratulating them and saying they supported the war) and my thought was "Yeah it is great voting blahblah but um these PEOPLE AREN'T IN THE COUNTRY GETTING BLOWN UP *headdesks*"

*makes note that she hasn't identified herself as a democrat since like 98 and that she has major issues with the two party system anyway*

"We need a chair that doesn't only represent the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party."You know sometimes I think I hate Democratic Party more than I hate the Republican Party. The Republicans I know that they're supposed to be on the right. When they do right wing bullshit I don't agree with, they're just doing what Republicans are supposed to do. But the democrats are supposed to the leftist party and they fail at that job miserably ( ... )

DUDE. YES. Do people in Bagdad really have the same experience as the Iraqi immigrant living cozy & safe in suburban Long Island? I don't fucking think so.

::sighs:: Well, I'm still a baseline Democrat & probably always will be. I'll take a corrupt Mayor Quimby over Pat Robertson & the Enron CEO's anyday. Still, I loathe the 2 party system like everyone else. I think back to '92 and wonder, would Clinton have ever gotton elected if Ross Perot hadn't siphoned off so many burgoning neocon voters.

The Republicans I know that they're supposed to be on the right. When they do right wing bullshit I don't agree with, they're just doing what Republicans are supposed to do.::sighs again:: See, the problem with the Democratic party right now is it doesn't have a damn spine. They hang-wring and think about ( ... )

::sighs again:: See, the problem with the Democratic party right now is it doesn't have a damn spine. They hang-wring and think about feelings and opposition and don't want to take a stand, etc. This, to me, is where we need the Howard Deans and the Barbara Boxers and the stand-up comics to just say, "Fuck you, YES I'M A LIBERAL, I'M RIGHT AND YOU'RE WRONG so you can SUCK IT!!!"

Word. The Dems have been creeping to the right for decades until they're moderate conservatives instead of liberals. Meanwhile they're so busy wooing the so-called swing vote that they don't notice the party faithful dropping off the end into third parties like the Greens and Libertarians. All of which, of course, helps neocons and hurts liberal causes. So of course the neocons and their Dem puppets don't want an outspoken, honest liberal gaining a position of power.

I guess I feel pretty ok about the election. As in, I don't know what it's going to bring in the future, but so far it hasn't seemed to make anything worse. It may not get us out of the war any faster but at least nothing happened to make us stay any longer.

So we should represent...what? The Republican wing of the party? I swear to Christ, they're trying to make me go third party.

::weeps:: You and me both, babe.

I think I remember reading somewhere that this guy was pro-life on top of everything else. Which... dude. We don't need any more pro-lifers representing the party. We've already got the House Minority leader for that.

::headdesks::

THIRD. PARTY. I'm going to CREATE MY OWN. It's the 'You people are all fucking morons' party. I'll donate money to Barack Obama and Barbara Boxer and Mark Dayton and the rest of you can KISS MY LIBERAL, PRO-CHOICE, ANTI-FUNDAMENTALIST, PEACENIK ASS.
