What the fuck is up with the whole women's hen party in the ladies room thing? I mean... I'm a woman, and I STILL don't get why some women feel the need to go, enmasse, to the ladies room and stand around primping and gossiping for gods know how long ( Read more... )

I don't stand around primping ... but I almost always go to the bathroom with a friend or two, and yes, I usually talk the whole time I'm in there.

I'm not sure, but it may go back to elementary school, where the bathroom is a 'safe' place, and boys aren't allowed. (Don't try this with Kevin, though - he WILL follow you into the Ladies' Room if he wants to!) For me, a public bathroom is one of the places I am *least* shy and more open and communicative with other women than anywhere else.

Go figger.

Oh it's not a "going to the bathroom with a friend or two and chattering while you do what you came to do" thing.

It's a "Take a pack of women and go HANG OUT in the bathroom, talking and fiddling with your hair and basically taking up space" thing.

We have a woman from somewhere in the bldg. who talks loudly in spanish on her cell, right outside my door.

I often go to the stairwell to take an important cell call, as i feel it's rude to stay in the office and talk about 'personal' things (or things like BR/Crucible business).

i never quite understood this either. i'm a woman and i'm perfectly capable of going on my own to the ladies room. i don't like to primp (ask anyone who knows me) and i don't chatter there either. sorry, i want to get in and get out in as little time as possible. :)

As an aside... coughing so hard you wet your pants sucks.

the only purpose I have of going into the bathroom with other girls is when theres a line and only one stall and it's just quicker to all be in there at the same time than wait on the stupid line.
