Well, its not that I don't believe in them, I'm just nervous about it. I'm sure there are some conditions that a chiropractor would be great at treating. But mine involves muscles and inflammation,so I'm not sure what a realignment would do for me. I'm not even supposed to get a massage right now, so I imagine a chiropractor would also be out. Though I am getting desperate enough to consider acupunture, despite the fact that it TOTALLY FREAKS ME OUT.
After Haunt, we should definitely talk about alterations.
I'm sorry you're in so much pain! I hope the muscles relax soon. It might help a little bit to stop worrying about work (much much easier said than done, I know) and relax as much as possible into something you enjoy. You know things will be covered well in your absence, and there isn't a darn thing you can do about it either way right now.
I "threw" out my back again the other day. Definitely doing better than you're doing, but muscle relaxers are my new BFFs. One suggestion that helped me the last time I was having issues is to go see a physical therapist. They give you some simple exercises that will help strengthen your back so you don't have the same problems later. They also give you a massage to help loosen the muscles and then have you lay on this zappy thing that magically jolts the pain away. I know you're super busy, but it was a huge huge help for me. I'm not sure if a chiro would help since you're having more muscle pain and less joint pain. If you need a suggestion for a physical therapist, let me know. The one I went to was in Irvine, but I think I know someone in Long Beach too.
If you don't do that, you should at least go see a non urgent care doctor who can keep track of your progress whether you're getting better.
Well, I am not too busy at the moment. At the moment, I am confined to my bed. I have also been enjoined fromgetting a massage. I asked about that, I thought it might help. He told me it would be a bad idea right now. He did give me a couple of excercises I am supposed to do to stretch out my back.
Also, I am up in Los Angeles. So Long Beach and Irvine would be a little far for me. Thanks for the offer though!
