Ahhh, love it! There's not enough fic out there about the reapers in the 20th century, so I was thrilled to see this! You really portrayed them in pitch-perfect character for the time (and I'm quite a big fan of Grell & Ronald bromance). One of my favorite things about this is how you included so much social commentary--Grell's experiences in particular. That's really what I love about Black Butler; the ability for fic to be part fantasy and part historical fiction (also totally feeling your headcanon here on Grell's past acting career-- and Will's mental breakdown?!? Do tell)

I must say the ending made me flail a bit-- love how you tied together the deaths in the pub, and I'm thrilled to see that Grell is still chainsaw-happy in the 70's & hasn't changed his scythe in your universe here.

This also made me ridiculously hungry. ;)

Sorry for the late reply and Thanks! I love seeing these guys in the 20th century and I've noticed most people tend to focus on modern day and kind of gloss over the time before that. Glad you liked the social commentary, it was inevitable and i just had to get a lot of my interpretations out there as well as touching on a few issues that interest me personally. That's a big thing I love about this series too; I've always been a huge fan of historical fiction and this series really intrigued me on that level.

As for Will's mental breakdown, I do plan on running a little more with this idea and I'll be getting to that in detail. And yes Grell is still VERY chainsaw happy. A bit more chill than he used to be but still...

Hell this made me hungry writing it, I seriously went out and got fish and chips a few days after positing this XD

Thank you so much!These guys are my brotp in Kuro so I just love writing them interacting. And yeah I know Grell's current look is a bit different to put it very mildly. I figured he wasn't the type to keep the same look after a hundred years, especially given the changes he's gone through in the past hundred years. And no matter ho much he changes, he will always be that chainsaw happy crazy to me <3
