A scene from a pissed off puca's life...

He sat there staring at his computer for long minutes, reading the exchange between Maggie and Chuck. The longer he looked at the words, the angrier Marcus became. How dare she… The swearing started quietly in Gaeilge and then a bit louder in Fae. By the time Marcus was furious enough to start yelling in English, he’d knocked his computer from his ( Read more... )

Liam was wiping down tack when he heard the yelling from the house and froze in place to listen. Not every word came through, but enough did to make it clear that Marcus was in a blue fury. At Chuck.

He turned to where his father was arranging a saddle for cleaning. "Da--"

Anraí came over and took the sponge and glycerin bar out of his hands. "Go. I'll finish up here. Let me know what happened."

Liam needed no further urging to take off for the house at a run. Tearing into the living room, he found his Pixie curled up on the couch with tears on her face. "Chuck?" No sign of Marcus. "What happened, sugar?"

As if she had half a clue about what happened, she didn't. Wiping her face with her hands, Chuck sat up and shook her head. She was still more or less shell shocked by Marcus' tirade so when she spoke, her tone was flat. "I don't know. He was yelling and something about Rina and Maggie and then he left."

She did manage to point towards the front door before dropping her hands to her lap and staring at them. "I told Maggie that he was seeing Rina because she thought he was desperate or something. I don't know. He got mad about it. I don't know."

Liam's teeth clenched briefly. As if Chuck hadn't already seen more than enough MacEibhir anger on this trip. On the other hand, what had seemed like a pile of random stupidity now made something almost like sense. Sitting down beside her, he slipped one arm around her shoulders, while with his free hand he scooped up a temporarily displaced Bagel and restored him to the little blonde's lap. The little tabby immediately nestled in close, sensing her upset.

"I'm sorry you got caught in that, Tiny." Pressing a soft kiss to Chuck's temple, he gently rubbed her opposite shoulder. "Marcus has been trying to persuade Maggie to go out with him, so apparently finding out about Rina got her all kinds of pissed off." He sighed. "Although why it should bother her so much when she's been shutting him down every chance she gets ... still. I'm sorry, pretty girl. Like you said, you didn't know."

Liam tickled Bagel's ears, then rubbed the back of his neck. "I should probably go talk to him."

She nodded again and placed a hand over the kitten's back. Bagel was 'hers' and at the moment more comfort than Liam. Kittens never got angry and she could see that her Country Boy, while not exactly mad, was upset. She didn't want to do anything to set him off too.

"I guess. I mean he went out front." It was probably a good thing Chuck never bothered to turn around and look out the window for the redhead. She'd never find him. "He is seeing Rina, isn't he?"

Yeah, she's confused.
