The reason that the book and the film version were made was to exonerate Simon for cutting Joe's rope. Most of the British climbing community ostracized Simon for this, so Joe wrote the book to defend his climbing partner. Your trip sounds like fun. I look forward to the change of seasons here, so I can resume hiking trips. Have fun.

I hope for some one else's sake that you get back ok...all your fingers, toes and noses. Your friend is being very tough, but I think she was a little worried about you. You are a dare devil - geez!

Yes, I made it back safely -- all fingers, toes, and noses (well, one of my noses anyway).
