Is it really that you waste your time? Some days I do try not to waste a single minute and I even can get a little momentum.... But eventually I have to take the mindless break and just curl up with my cat, or play a video game, or .... Are these really wasted time? It feels like it when I think that I could be studying Greek, etc, but is a purring kitten not quality?
On the other hand, time spent in traffic really does seem wasted, unless for example I have someone there with whom I can have a meaningful conversation. And in that case, I may be glad for the traffic and the opportunity it provides of additional conversation. :)

a good question
I think that if time is spent doing something that adds value to your life, then it is quality time and unwasted.
For me, personally, sometimes a computer game adds value to my life. It can challenge my thinking skills. It possibly allows me to vent after a stressful day, etc. Certainly, it can have importance. However, everything in moderation. Ordinarily, I can challenge my thinking skills and produce something in translating. Ordinarily (if I do not need to get rid of stress), translating is a better use of time than computer gaming.
As for time spent with Cloud, it is a relationship (of sorts). Building a relationship is not a waste of time in my eyes.
As for traffic, yeah, big waste. I have begun reading books on the 15-min bus ride to sadeyedartist's house.
