Ryoji || Minato || Picking up the pieces

[ ... It's the quiet jostle in the back of his mind that alerts him to something wrong.

No, that's inaccurate. Perhaps it would be better to say it's the loud horrible overwhelming feeling only one who was connected to his other half could feel. His friend was being hurt yet again ( Read more... )

[The scene is clearly one of a struggle. He is in a crumpled heap near the base of the wall, expression still vaguely pained.

But his Evoker lies before him neatly...as if someone was holding it and left it there.

Someone, of course, other than Minato.

His breathing is ragged, but he is breathing. At least...there is that.]

[ He would know if his friend was dead. He would know.

Luckily he is not. ... The Evoker tells him something. He can guess at what that... jolt had been. They were meant to invoke the feeling of dying, after all, weren't they?

Ryoji quietly approaches the scene, careful not to disturb anything, and kneels over his friend. He picks the Evoker up using the end of his scarf, then places it in his pocket. Turning to Minato... it would be best if he could wake him up. A gentle nudge to his friend's shoulder, shaking him quietly. ]

... Minato-kun. Hey... come on.

[He's been unconscious and on the cold ground long enough by the time that Ryoji arrives that the shaking does, actually, bring him to.

He stirs somewhat, and then groans, flinching and curling in on himself as his body protests the movement after the punishment he had taken earlier.

And then he focuses on breathing, quite forgetting to open his eyes to check and see who it was that was shaking him in the first place.]

[ ... Ryoji can tell Minato has been traumatized. A lot.

It hurts him, to see his friend in this way. But... his anger is more ice at this point, than something fiery. Perhaps it was that he'd grown, but what Motochika had told him... he kept reminding himself of it. And he took it to heart, completely.

What Aigis, too, had said. I need you to be there for him.

Then be there for him is what he would do. Ryoji gingerly puts a hand on his friend's hand, an attempt to clasp his hands in his own. ]

... Minato. It's me. It's okay. I'm going to help you get back to the dorms. You're okay. ... Come on. I need you to walk, unless you want me to manhandle you all the way there.

Work with me, here. Your safety is more important to me than anything else. And... that includes your state of mind. But I can't help you there unless you help me.

[ There's no expression on his face right now. He wants to force a smile, but this... he can't. This was too serious. ]
