Oh man, this is awesome. I totally never thought about this, but it all makes so much sense now! This has a very Pratchett feel to it and has a lot of great lines. I don't know why, but for some reason I was particularly amused by At the time he'd taken that to mean that sometimes people got married even when they didn't have very much money, but now he suspected that hadn't been what his father meant.

This is wonderful.

He wasn't sure "queer" was the right word for it, though, if only because that was a human word, and some part of him felt that anything that couldn't be named in dwarfish didn't really exist. It made him feel uneasy, as if he might not really exist either unless he could find the right words to explain how he felt.

Oh, man. Yeah. YEAH.

This is very sweet. Not sweet as in lacking substance, but it's a delicate, kind, and thoughtful take on both gender identity and the changing culture in the dwarves of Discworld, and I really like your play on it. I thought the characters were very well-fleshed for their short appearances, and quite believable. I really enjoyed reading this!

I greately enjoyed it, though it made my heard hurt. (Even if I am not a dwarf.)

That is perfect. It really is. I love all your lovely, confused, thoughtful dwarfs! This is exactly right, exactly what I hoped someone would do with the idea of transgender and queer dwarfs!
