**Prompt submission is now closed. Prompt claiming will begin tomorrow, March 4. Thanks for all the prompts!**
How to submit prompts
You can now submit prompts in comments here, which we'll compile into a list for claiming. Please read the rules below before submitting prompts! Prompts can be character- or pairing-specific, fandom-specific, or general. Feel free to submit prompts even if you aren't sure you're going to write for the fest.
As a reminder, please do not submit prompts requesting stories that focus on straight, non-transgender characters, including stories about straight non-transgender characters:
- mistakenly being assumed to be LGBT
- living in a society where being LGBT is the norm
- reacting to having LGBT family, friends, or co-workers
- questioning their sexual orientation and deciding they are straight
- having sex with someone of the same gender despite actually being straight
Important: please use the format "Fandom, character/pairing, prompt" with commas separating the fandom, character or pairing, and prompt. This will let us sort the prompts in a spreadsheet when we're putting together the list for claiming. Please use full names for fandoms (Harry Potter, not HP; Star Trek: The Original Series, not ST: TOS).
ETA: If you want to submit prompts for crossovers, please use the format "Crossover: Fandom A/Fandom B, character/pairing, prompt."
Examples:
Harry Potter, Ron Weasley/Hermione Granger, After their marriage, either Ron or Hermione comes out as bisexual.
Due South, Ray Vecchio/Benton Fraser, Ray struggles to reconcile his faith with his feelings for Fraser.
X-Men movieverse, Charles Xavier/Erik Lehnsherr, What did Charles and Erik think of the Stonewall riots?
Blakes 7, Dayna Mellanby, After growing up on an isolated planet, Dayna finds it hard to decide what labels apply to her.
Harry Potter, any characters, One of the Hogwarts students faces bullying and violence for being LGBT.
Pirates of the Caribbean, any characters, A very long life after having found the Fountain of Youth means having to adjust to a changing world and changing labels.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer, any characters, Some of the new Slayers are lesbian or bisexual; how does that affect their interactions with their fellow Slayers?
Stargate Atlantis, any characters, The rules have changed-but just because a character can come out, now, doesn’t necessarily mean that s/he wants to.
Any fandom, any characters, Show us a gay bar that's not just a place to get laid, but also important to a particular community in other ways.
Any fandom, any characters, A canon character begins living as another gender, and has to deal with people's reactions.
Prompt submission will run from February 25 through March 3. Please feel free to pimp the fest around; we'd like to see a lot of fandoms represented here!
ETA: From here on out, if you've already commented and want to add more prompts, please submit them in a new comment rather than editing your original comment. As we start to compile the prompts, that'll make it easier not to miss any.
