By the end of this month, I will be looking for a canon beta for two Rose of Versailles stories (both Oscar/Andre, PG-13, no fireworks). If someone familiar with the canon and/or 1788 France can take a look at it from a fact-checking point of view, I would very much appreciate it.

I haven't watched Rose of Versailles in years, but I'm pretty good with French history, and I absolutely love that anime. I'd definitely be willing to take a look at your stories. My email is tree00faery@gmail.com

I can beta jlsigman April 13 2010, 12:22:23 UTC
I can do American English spelling/grammar for any fandom.

I can do full beta's for any Final Fantasy, Devil May Cry, Pirates of the Caribbean, Fullmetal Alchemist, Kingdom Hearts, original Kushiel trilogy, StarCraft, WarCraft, Cowboy Bebop, Harry Potter.

I am closeted bisexual, personally dealing with repression of sexual identity due to years of molestation by a sibling.

I would prefer not to read incest.

You can contact me at jlsigman at gmail.com

Volunteering:
I can do a full beta for Ace Attorney, Psychonauts, Pirates of the Caribbean, Burn Notice (canon, mind, any spy stuff not so much), Transformers, Alice in Wonderland, and Discworld. Anything else I can do a technical beta for. I'm also a pretty good hand with psychology, although I don't know where that might come up.

Seeking:
I need a beta for a mystery-based fic, particularly in the realm of medical and LGBT issues as I'm a little distanced from both in my personal experiences. Basic familiarity with Ace Attorney preferred but not required.

I was wondering how you wanted to be contacted for beta work? :) . I saw you had your email on your profile, but I wasn't sure if you'd prefer email or PM.

I'll happily do spelling/grammar beta for any fandom, and can do a full beta for Pirates of the Caribbean, or Primeval. I also know some stuff about LotR (not active in that fandom, but love both the movies and the books), and could do Harry Potter in a pinch.

Pretty much the only thing I won't beta squicks-wise is stuff involving either pedophilia or extreme anti-religious sentiment (and yes, that includes making Catholic priests have sex).

I also like to think that my experiences as a genderqueer person & bi/pansexual teen could possibly be useful. Contact me at jaykinnon [at] gmail dot com.

ETA: I'm also fairly familiar with Age of Sail stuff and generally familiar with 18th century (English-focused) stuff, and Canadian history. Not sure where those might arise, but just in case!
