Gonna put this under a whacking big cut as it avoids some seriously spoilery cracky thoughts/ruminations I've had about the character of Donna from the new season of Doctor Who.

Here Be Future Ep. Spoilers!! )

Ooh, fascinating idea, young lady....... I tentatively like it, a lot. Will wait and see!

(using crankypants icon purely because I like that, too!)

Heheheh...it's an appropriate icon for use with me!

And hopefully you won't be waiting too much longer...for Who...Torchwood...Sarah Jane. They really need to pull their finger out down under. So to speak. ;)

Perhaps...she's Romana? She is after all a Noble Lady too. :D

Thought of that! And would be *squee* would love that! But the Rani name works better...and the whole memory loss thing would seem to fit. And Romana wouldn't be likely to hide away if she had a choice.

Unless Romana was all massively traumatised by what happened of course. Which would be :(

While I'm positing the above, I'm not sure I'd be keen on it. I'd much rather the first really strong companion character in terms of emotional egality with the Doctor we've had turns out not to be an Alien Time Lady...but just an average human woman doing her best. *nods*

And I needz to make me some Ten/Donna icons. *nods again*

Thing is though, would Martha just have fallen for him again post Donna? Is it inevitable that they make every bright *young* thing get the hots for him? Will that even change after Rusty goes?

The Doctor is like Holmes. He's great to fanfic with all sorts in romances, but on screen he should be pretty much asexual. Maybe it's the Movie's fault, maybe by declaring him canonically Half Human (and having him snog Grace twice) they opened the door for all this. But then Eight was in his post regeneration fugue and his over exuberant actions have to be taken in context.

They pretty much avoided it with Ecclescake (who won't be inviting John Barrowman to his place if this weeks articles from the omnipresent one were accurate!) and then came Tennant and Rusty's Crush and the flood gates opened. Maybe it will stop when DT moves on. I'm hoping seriously that Donna's introduction is the end of the love story subplots period, because they're actually fracturing fandom now. If their aim was to get more girls in they've succeeded, but ( ... )

I want your theory to be true. More than my own pet theory that the TARDIS is getting too old to function. ;-)

I really hope you are right. I had similar ideas, but... damn, you really know how to shape words around it.

Thank you.

LOL! I'm verbose aerynstales will happily tell you that. My problem is when to stop shaping words around things!

It would be quite a twist if it did turn out to be true. Whatever the truth though definitely sounds like the Time Lords could be back in some form or other by the end of this series.
