I didn't post from Tumblr exactly -- I posted the pic to tumblr, and then used the 'copy image location' from that post in the DW/LJ insert image popup.

...I hope that made sense. Basically, the tumblr post is image hosting, and I can do it from my phone.

The simple answer to making the tumblr user head show is that I posted this from Dreamwidth, and they make it so the symbols show up when you define the site in a [user name=NAME site=SITENAME.COM] type statement.
