heh, the meme amuses. Qui-Gon Jinn and Gimli, Pittsburgh. There, that might keep you occupied for a moment.

C/o Jedi Main Temple Complex,

z'Jhedhai City, Coruscant,

NGC479087-aA

Most honored Master Jinn,

The bones of this place are, as you hoped, rich with the memory of metal, and a present potential for beauty of stone. The Elf declares the trees to be of good heart and honorable lineage. Should the Shadow that threatens arise, this place could be made to be a haven. There are several fine caverns nearby, and one of great beauty but fifteen leagues hence, that could ward and protect a goodly number of folk, though it would take Dwarven ingenuity to make it truly habitable. The world itself is very fair, and the people of good heart and a very Elvish way of living.

Legolas sends his good greetings, to you and your young student, as most sincerely do I.

Gimli Gloinson

I loved that you picked up the Pittsburgh setting and made it into something so Gimli-esque!! The connection to mining might have been lurking deep in my subconscious for me to come up with Pittsburgh randomly like that, but I love that you brought it out and made it work :) :) And especial love for the locationstamp, which, knowing your interests, is utterly accurate :)

Of course your voice for Gimli is just right. Have you read anything by anna_wing on the FlashSlash comm? She writes Gimli occasionally, and elves too, and her tone would please you. (Extra kudos here for the 'lineage' that Legolas sees as important - I feel like I'm seeing a slice of Elven culture there.)

And of course Legolas and Gimli land up together - just right :)

I am so glad you liked this! I did have fun writing it. I shall have to look up that author -- actually, I need to put the flash-slash back in my regular reading filter.

I seem to recall that you know somewhat of Blake's 7? Would you be willing to give me a sanity check on the thing I wrote for Taz? I will email it to you.

...It's a good thing I just found my Blake's 7 tapes. And in an even more amusing turn of events, today I transferred the 7" 45rpm disk of the B7 theme and the Federation March to .wav & .mp3. Which of course means that fragments of both of them are stuck on repeat in my head.

So I'm thinking this is Meant to Be, or something :-)

‘Liberator’- Whereabouts unknown, but that won’t stop you getting this; between the thief, the telepath, the pirate and the sociopath, there are no comm-bands untapped.

You will be pleased to know that Her Eminence has seen fit to send me to ‘learn moderation’ on Ursa Prime. Or was it ‘cleaning house’? Certainly it is cleaner without your sad and ineffective resistance cell.

Lovely place, very peaceful now. Wish you were here.

And you will be, quite soon, I am assured.
